The Spontanes have a rich history that spans over 40 years.  It is amazing how often someone will approach us at a gig and say they used to be a member of the band.  Some were, a lot were not.  Now with the advent of the internet many different stories are being told.  For the sake of posterity we are constructing this page.  It will start at the beginning and connect all the dots to the present.  Here's the rub, we're still here with fire in our eyes and music in our souls.  Our tentacles go all the way back.  The information on this page will be straight from the "horses mouth".

This is a work in progress,  we'll go through the record deal with United Artist in '68, the birth of "Harley Hogg and the Rockers in '74,  The "Nights of Summer" beach era of the 70's and early 80's, the transformation in '82, "Pass the Loot" in '87, the 50's show in '88, the 70's show in the 90's, the TNN  video "Where's the Food, Ya'll" in '90, working with Archie Bell and Ray Peterson throughout the 90's,  Percy Sledge in the late 90's, "Playin' It By Ear" in2002, and wait 'til you hear about what we're up to now!

A complete chart of the line-up for every year of our existence is almost done.  From there we'll add pictures, sound clips, videos and anecdotes from various band members.   Check back often.  For now, here's a few pictures to get started.
